CRESCOM BANK MAKES DONATION TO TEACHER’S SUPPLY CLOSET
October 17, 2012 Charleston, S.C. – Representatives of CresCom Bank today announced the bank donated $2,000 to Charleston’s Teacher’s Supply Closet to help repair damages caused by the heavy rains throughout the region.
In August, weather due to Hurricane Isaac brought torrential rainfall and street flooding to the Charleston area, bringing between four and eight inches of rain across the low-lying metropolitan area.
Due to the rain, Teacher’s Supply Closet’s ceiling collapsed and approximately three inches of rain ended up in the building. Most of the school supplies were saved, however, severe structure damage was caused to the building’s roof.
“CresCom Bank wanted to do something to help Charleston’s flood victims and we saw this as an opportunity to step up to the plate,” said David Morrow, president of CresCom Bank. “We are a community bank that cares about the needs of our neighbors and this was a positive way to show our support and help during a difficult time.”
Presenting the check to Teacher’s Supply Closet was David Morrow, chief executive officer of CresCom Bank, to Deborah Halon, chief operating officer and Yvonne Orr, chairman of the board.
