CRESCOM BANK ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP PARTICIPATION IN WALK FOR AUTISM-CHARLESTON
April 16, 2012, Charleston, S.C. – Representatives of CresCom Bank today announced the bank will again be a sponsor for this year’s Walk for Autism-Charleston, Saturday, April 21, at Hampton Park. This is the eighth year CresCom Bank has participated.
As a sponsor, CresCom Bank has committed to pledging funds to support the walk, collect funds on behalf of the charity and take part in the walk.
Walk for Autism-Charleston is a not-for-profit organization which raises funds to help families in the tri-county/Charleston area pay for the treatment of autism and one-on-one behavioral and relational development programs. It is the organization’s primary fundraiser and is held each year during the month of April to celebrate Autism Awareness Month.
The event consists of a family friendly walk through historic Hampton Park, with free refreshments, live music, jump castles, a sensory play area, autism merchandise, haircuts by Great Clips and therapy dogs.
Registration for the event on Saturday, April 21, begins at 9:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 10:00 a.m.
“We are proud to take part in the Walk for Autism-Charleston again this year. It is a great way to show our support for those who are, or have ever been affected by autism,” said Joe Bonacci, senior vice president of CresCom Bank. “We are eager to help broaden others knowledge of autism and pledge to help make this year’s event a success.”
Autism is the result of a neurological disorder, impacting the development of social and communication skills. Autism knows no ethnic or social boundaries and is not affected by family income, lifestyles, or education levels. It can affect any child and usually appears during the first three year of life. Current studies by the Centers for Disease Control report that one in every 91 children will be diagnosed with autism.
About CresCom Bank
CresCom Bank’s origins were derived from the consolidation of Crescent Bank and Community FirstBank.
Both Community FirstBank (Charleston) and Crescent Bank (Myrtle Beach) were founded by local business leaders committed to building successful banks in both cities under the umbrella of parent holding company Carolina Financial Corporation. The reason for both banks forming was the same: as a response to several large bank mergers that left few community banking choices for area residents and businesses.
CresCom Bank has 10 locations along the coast of South Carolina. Offering a strong core of banking products and services and a committed group of community leaders, management and personnel, CresCom Bank remains committed to warm, exceptional service and a strong knowledge of local businesses and economic trends.
It’s this dedication that makes "Have a nice bank." more than just a slogan, but a commitment to service. This, combined with years of experience and unique understanding of financial opportunities along coastal South Carolina, that makes CresCom Bank the perfect fit for either personal or business financial needs.
