July 11, 2013, Charleston, S.C. – Carolina Financial Corporation, the holding company for CresCom Bank, a S.C. state-charted community bank, has announced Bill Gehman as its new chief financial officer. Gehman, a certified public accountant who brings more than 10 years of financial institution experience to the position, first joined Carolina Financial Corporation in 2008.

As well as serving as the chief financial officer, Gehman will also continue to serve as the executive vice president at Carolina Financial Corporation. 

“Bill’s financial experience and history with Carolina Financial Corporation make him an invaluable asset as our new chief financial officer,” said Jerry L. Rexroad, Carolina Financial Corporation chief executive officer. “He understands the complexities associated with the modern banking industry and will help us continue to grow as a company.”

Previously, Gehman served as senior vice president and corporate controller at Coastal Financial Corporation, where his responsibilities included public and regulatory reporting. Prior to this, he spent nearly a decade with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., a predecessor to the national accounting firm KPMG, LLP.

Gehman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the S.C. Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Managers Society, Inc.

Currently, Carolina Financial Corporation operates 10 CresCom Bank branch locations within South Carolina.
